Because we are haughty, know-it-all/know-nothing Yanks from Cleveland, we’ve never been big fans of NASCAR. We prefer our sports sad, slow and/or football-related. Plus, we always pictured sleeveless NASCAR fans celebrating both wins and losses with Bud Light showers. In typical CBB fashion, we were wrong. According to recent reports, the Texas Motor Speedway will be serving up its own craft beer when NASCAR rolls into town in April. Audacity Brew House will brew the specialty beer, which is located just up the road from the track in Denton. The beer is called No Limits Checkered Past Texas Ale. According to the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Audacity founders and co-owners Scott Lindsey and Doug Smith helped unveil their latest brew.

“If you’re a craft beer fan, you’ll be familiar with the style called steam beer, made famous by Anchor Steam, so we kind of put our little twist on it and call it a Texas steam,” Smith said.  “Light and sessionable but with a lot of character, a lot of malt flavor to it, a little bit of fruit from the steam process.

“You’re going to be sitting in the sun, you’re going to be watching some cars go real fast and you’re going to want a beer that’s enjoyable that’s really well done. … You can have three or four of them and really enjoy your day.”

On March 3, Audacity Brew House also announced a collaboration with Travelstead, site of the award-winning Oaktopia Festival, to bring North Texas’ premier brewpub experience to the heart of historic downtown Denton. The collab is called the Audacity Brew House at Travelstead. Slated to open in late 2016, the facility will focus on creating a complete craft beer concept, from the brews created onsite to the hops-inspired menu.

Damn, Audacity Brew House, we’re definitely keeping an eye on you.
