European expansion isn’t just reserved for the largest names in craft beer. Against the Grain Brewery (which has some of our favorite can designs) announced on its website that it will be launching its brand in Europe.
From the brewery’s blog:
After five years of brewing in America and distributing our beers all over the world, we’ve decided to take our unabashed, crude humor to a new land. Against the Grain Europe is our latest brand made in and for European countries. It’s an extension of who we are in Louisville, but with production in Germany at Brauhaus Binkert. Against the Grain Europe exemplifies our American styles and quality standards. The first brews currently being made are an American IPA, Neoanderthal, and an American Pale Ale, Plus One.
In lieu of the new brand we’d like to also introduce you to our newest Against the Grain character, Touri. She’s our international tour guide taking the European versions of our characters, Session, Hop, Whim, Dark, Malt, and Smoke, on a journey across America visiting landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and the Grand Canyon.
These unique beers will be brewed and bottled in Germany then distributed throughout Europe where a host of our core brands are already present.
Supported by the BA’s Export Development Program (EDP), craft beer export volume increased by 4.4 percent in 2016, now totaling 465,617 barrels and worth $121 million.
