‘World Bottled Beers’ crowns the top 50 international brews

November 13, 2014Jason Morgan

World Bottled Beers Top 50 Beers
This is the actual book, shaped like a beer bottle. Not an actual beer bottle.

People love lists. It’s a fact. I love lists. You love lists. We all love lists. Maybe that’s why there are so many list-oriented stories on the Internet. Well add this one to the, er… list! Quarto Publishing Group recently announced the release of World Bottled Beers, which catalogs the 50 “best” international beers, according to the publisher. From Adams Broadside out of the U.K. to U.S. classics like Bear Republic’s Racer 5 IPA and Sierra Nevada Bigfoot, author Adrian Tierney-Jones, editor of the best-selling 1001 Beers to Try Before You Die, chronicles the world’s beer offerings including German lagers and wheat beers that include Ayinger Celebrator and Schneider Weisse.

For each beer, a shaped bottle image is accompanied by detailed tasting notes and a list of similar beers. All major beer styles are represented, including, bitters, stouts, pale ales, IPAs, lagers, wheat beer, lambic and trappist. What’s more is that the book is shaped like a life-sized bottle. Just try not to get too carried away reading the beer descriptions and try to drink the paper.
