Triple C Brewing Co. is turning 1 year old on Aug. 24. To celebrate, the Charlotte, N.C. brewery will be having a pig roast with several local bands playing, and it will be releasing a new year round brew: The Road to Nowhere Porter.
At 5.6 percent ABV and 48 IBU, this smooth dark ale combines chocolate and nutty malt flavors with a piney hop aroma and finish. Later in the fall, Triple C will be releasing its first full production size (15 bbls) batch of Urban Hop Project IPA. Using mostly hops grown on site at the brewery, this ale is being brewed to accentuate the citrus fresh hop flavor of hops grown just a mile from downtown.
The brewery notes that the Charlotte community has been incredibly supportive in its first year of operation, in which it brewed 1,740 barrels (bbl). Plans for the future include a bottling line to help distribute 22-oz bottles of Triple C brews to more craft beer lovers. Bottled beers will include Babymaker Double IPA, Up All Night Breakfast Porter, Bourbon Barrel Aged Up All Night Breakfast Porter and Smoked Amber, with more to follow.
