These unbreakable PubWARE glasses are the shit, but they ain’t cheap

Craft brewers, here is your new, revolutionary line of elegant, unbreakable drinkware.

The life of a pint is not an easy one. It is washed, chipped, heated, chilled, cracked and finally dropped in an explosive ending that has you finding glass in the bar for years to come. This is why PubWARE Pints and Tulips — glasses that won’t break but also retain the pleasing properties of drinking out of a glass — intrigue us so.

PubWARE is a new line from SymGLASS, which touts unbreakable drinkware that looks and feels like real glass, but won’t crack, discolor, haze or cloud like acrylic or polycarbonate alternatives. Designed for both commercial and residential use, PubWARE says its Pints and Tulips can withstand the harshest of conditions in pubs, bars and restaurants. So, what’s the catch?

RELATED: Craft beer merchandising trends report

Well, a set of four pints retails for $49.99, while a set of four tulips retails for $54.99. Luckily, industry prices are available for bars, pubs, restaurants, hotels and other hospitality establishments.

PubWARE is designed for both commercial and residential use and combines the look and feel of glass with the durability of engineered polymer. Manufactured using a proprietary molding process, PubWARE’s Pints (16 ounce) and Tulips (20 ounce) frost up “better than traditional glass,” says PubWARE, with insulation properties that keep beverages colder longer and won’t “sweat” on the outside. They can be placed into the freezer immediately after coming out of a dishwasher, with no cool-down period required. Beer poured into a PubWARE Pint or Tulip won’t foam up too quickly, like it will when poured into most plastic cups. Also according to PubWARE, these faux glasses allow a beer’s head to form just like a traditional glass will.

They are also BPA-free, dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe and (pump your fist) made in the USA.
