Is there be a more formidable dynamic duo of regional craft treats than Southern Tier Brewing and Perry’s Ice Cream?
Southern Tier Brewing Company opened in 2002 in the lakeside town of Lakewood, New York, and has become a top tier craft beverage company known for its big flavors, like the beloved Pumking and its darker variant Warlock. Across the street sits Southern Tier Distilling Company, where it produces ready-to-drink Canned Cocktails and high-proof Spirits including Bourbon, Whiskey, Vodka and Gin.
Perry’s Ice Cream is a Great Lakes regional brand and Upstate New York’s #1 ice cream choice. Founded in 1918 by H. Morton Perry, Perry’s Ice Cream is a fourth-generation, family-owned business based in Akron, New York.
For the third year in a row, the two are partnering on a one-of-a-kind brew inspired by Perry’s newest flavor: Cherry Pie Ice Cream.
“We began with Perry’s signature Vanilla Scoop, and, due to fan excitement, came back last year with Orange Twist,” said Brandon Hank, Brand Manager at Southern Tier Brewing Company. “Now, we’re excited for our evolution to Cherry Pie; it perfectly matches the passion Southern Tier Brewing Company and Perry’s both have for innovation and fun.”
Cherry Pie Imperial Ale
Cherry Pie Imperial Ale is a bold and flavorful 8.6% ABV beer that combines the best of both brands’ expertise in crafting indulgent experiences.
Drawing inspiration from Perry’s Cherry Pie Ice Cream, which features rich cherry ice cream with swirls of cherries and crunchy graham crackers, Southern Tier’s Cherry Pie Imperial Ale offers a unique twist on dessert-inspired beers. This robust ale delivers notes of tart cherries, sweet vanilla, and flakey biscuit notes, balanced by a bold imperial backbone and a smooth finish. Perfect for sipping, this limited-edition brew is a celebration of flavor and creativity.
“The partnership with Southern Tier Brewing Company allows both brands to showcase their creativity in flavor innovation,” added Nichole Buryta, Senior Brand Manager at Perry’s Ice Cream. “The Cherry Pie Imperial Ale captures the essence of Perry’s new Cherry Pie Ice Cream and is the perfect way to bring the flavor to life in a whole new format.”
The Cherry Imperial Ale is immediately available on tap at Southern Tier’s five Taproom locations, the new craft brand will be arriving on shelves at retailers across New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and other Southern Tier markets, including Consumer Beverage Center, Giant Eagle, Dash’s Market, Sheetz, Tops Markets, Total Wine, Walmart, 7 Eleven, Speedway, Wegmans Food Markets and local independent retailers in March.
In 2014, Southern Tier joined the Artisanal Brewing Company family, which has since added Victory Brewing Company (Downingtown, PA), Sixpoint Brewery (Brooklyn, NY) and Bold Rock Hard Cider (Nellysford, VA) to its portfolio. Southern Tier taproom locations provide a one-of-kind craft beer experience and are located in Lakewood as well as in Buffalo, NY, Pittsburgh, PA Cleveland, OH and Charlotte, NC.
