Victory Brewing Co., Dogfish Head to host second annual beer and art exhibit

February 6, 2014Jason Morgan

Victory Brewing Co. and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery are pleased to announce that they will again co-host the non-traditional art exhibit celebrating the artistry of craft beer, Amber Waves, at the 2014 Craft Brewer’s Conference.

Now in its second year, Amber Waves will be held on April 10 at the RedLine Art Gallery, a diverse urban laboratory where art, education and community converge in Denver and will feature American craft breweries showcasing art in both its traditional and liquid form. Each brewery will contribute an amber-colored beer, along with a custom art piece commissioned exclusively for auction

Delicious craft brew or poignant work of art? We say it’s both.

“The craft brewing industry is built on craftsmanship, creativity and responsibility,” said Bill Covaleski. “Once again, we’re coming together to celebrate the best of what we do every day.”

During the event, guests will enjoy discovering the unique and varying flavor profiles that can be found in the all-amber beer line-up and have the opportunity to bid on their favorite art pieces throughout the evening via a silent auction. All auction proceeds will benefit the RedLine Art Gallery.

“Last year, we hosted this inaugural event with great success and feedback from both participating breweries and fans,” Covaleski continued. “This year, we’re excited to welcome our returning breweries, as well as grow our lineup with new additions, and offer a wider variety of beer for attendees to sample and art pieces for auction.”

• Evolution Craft Brewing Co.
• Excelsior Brewing Co.
• Flying Dog Brewery

New additions to the lineup include:

“I have always believed that brewing is an art form,” said Covaleski. “By pairing American-crafted beers with visual art, we hope to expose a larger audience to the art of flavor.”

Tickets for general admission go on sale on February 10 at www.amberwavesevent.com. The cost of admission is $25 and includes a souvenir five ounce tasting glass, beer sampling, as well as hors d’oeuvres and access to the Amber Waves silent auction. Attendance is free to brewing industry professionals with a valid 2014 CBC badge. For more information about this unique event, visit the Amber Waves website.
