Watch: Bell’s shares its safety guidelines for reopening Eccentric Café, including only two beers per person and outdoor seating only

June 16, 2020Keith Gribbins

Good news! Bell’s Brewery’s Eccentric Café is opening this Thursday, but it is very much a soft opening with COVID-19 looming. In the video above, Captain Carl explains the temporary guidelines for reopening its awesome brewpub in Kalamazoo, Mich., starting this Thursday, June 18. “We believe the safety of our customers and our entire staff is the upmost importance every day,” says Carl in the video above.

First, all guests must be 21+ to enter. “We do miss all of our families and our friends, but that’s how we’re going to start,” Carl says in the video. Face masks are required for entry and when not seated at your table (say, if you have to go to the bathroom). Eccentric will not use its dine-in areas. The brewpub will utilize its excellent patio for both dining and drink. In bad weather, Bell’s will close the patio and use its curbside carry-out program. Only groups of 10 or less will be permitted for entry, and an entire group must be present to be seated.

Of course, one of the biggest changes for beer lovers is the limit of two beers per person, and the ability to only order once when you enter. BUT, it’s only temporary, and caution is the course best suited for Bell’s and its customers with so much uncertainty surrounding coronavirus. Learn more by watching above.
