Watch the Hartogs brothers launch Virginia’s Rocket Frog Brewing in this YouTube series

February 6, 2018Keith Gribbins

I’ve been drinking with the Hartogs brothers since we were in college together, and these occasional CBB collaborators were a big part of introducing craft culture to this beer scribe. Now these twin brothers are finally going pro. David and Richard Hartog’s Rocket Frog Brewing Co. will be opening in April in Sterling, Va., but it’s been an arduous, multi-year project that’s been an absolute decathlon of love for the D.C.-based bros.

To capture the grueling amount of hurdles these guys have gone through to open a brewery (which has been in planning for some five years), the Hartogs are releasing a YouTube video series produced with other brother, Peter Hartogs. Here are the first four episodes. Follow the channel right over here, and we’ll post the rest as they go live. Now watch the Hartogs’ journey, which picks up when they get approved for a $1 million loan and have just 90 days to find and sign a lease. What could go wrong?
