Bull Falls Brewery starts big 2013 with new distribution agreement

February 12, 2013Chris Crowell

This is the first domino to fall in what should be an exciting year for Bull Falls, as the brewery is in the midst of a $1.5 million expansion project that should be completed this summer. At that time, Mid-Wisconsin Beverage will handle wholesale sales and distribution of Bull Falls Brewery beers in cans, kegs and growlers.

Bull Falls Brewery and Mid-Wisconsin Beverage Inc. signed a distribution agreement to boost the Wisconsin brewery’s reach, announced co-owner and brewmaster Mike Zamzow.

The cans are new too, according to Zamzow.

“This agreement allows us to focus on brewing high-quality craft beers and immediately expands our distribution capability,” Zamzow said. “Once our expansion project is completed this summer, our new canning line will allow us to produce 16-oz four- and 24-packs for supermarkets, liquor and convenience stores, taverns and restaurants; in addition to accelerating production and distribution of our kegs to a wider geographic area.”

“With Mid-Wisconsin Beverage as our partner, we gain an established distribution footprint, as well as excellence in marketing, sales and in-store merchandising,” Zamzow continued. “This is particularly beneficial for our existing customer base, as this partnership allows us to improve our responsiveness to our customer’s needs.”

The deal was a milestone for Mid-Wisconsin Beverage as the company hadn’t been in the beer game in several generations.

“We’ve come full-circle,” stated Bob Wolff, COO of Mid-Wisconsin Beverage. “My grandfather formed a partnership that became the Wausau Brewing Co., and now a fourth generation of the Wolff family has re-entered the beer business.

“Bull Falls craft brewed beers represent an exciting new wave in the beer business,” Wolff continued. “We’re happy to be part of that surge and take these unique hand-crafted beers that continue to grow in popularity to a much wider audience.”

Established in 2007, Bull Falls Brewery is the first distributing micro-brewery in Wausau, Wis. Bull Falls Brewery produces 16 different styles of beer annually.  Its German & American Ales and Lagers include Bock, Kolsch, Pilsner, English Stouts & Weiss style beers.  Bull Falls Authentic German Lagers are made with all German ingredients.
