Cascade Brewing makes first move beyond self-distribution, signs with Day One

December 21, 2016Chris Crowell

Self-distribution is a great road for the independent brewer to go down to get their beers in drinkers hands beyond their brewery walls (in the states that allow it), until it isn’t anymore. After self-distributing to more than 35 in-state accounts, Oregon’s Cascade Brewing finally hit that point and has signed on with Day One Distribution to handle sales and distribution for Cascade Brewing beers in its home state of Oregon.

Why now?

“The decision to go with a distributor partner in Oregon for the Cascade sour beer portfolio was a decision we had discussed for many months,” stated Tim Larrance, VP of sales and marketing. “We decided it was time to focus more on production than distribution. We found a great partner in Day One and its founder, Robby Roda.”

Roda has strong ties with Cascade Brewing, having served as the brewery’s sales director for two years. He has a depth of knowledge of the Cascade brands and is well versed in the process of making and selling high-quality barrel-aged sour beer.

Day One Distribution is a niche Portland-based distributor servicing the state of Oregon, with a focus on representing small independent beer companies. Day One Distribution is planning a number of events in early January with key Cascade accounts to celebrate the new partnership.
