Coronado Brewing arrives in Portland with General Distributors

November 14, 2013Jason Morgan

2013 has been all about expansion for Coronado Brewing. Earlier this year, it opened a new tasting room and now comes news that its Southern California beers will head north to taps and shelves in Portland, Ore.

Coronado Brewing Co DistributesCoronado’s hoppy IPA’s, stouts and Imperial ales are well known throughout California, Arizona and Florida as theyare quickly blazing a trail across the United States. This marks the 14th state the brewer will be bringing its lineup of beers to, which includes Islander IPA, Idiot IPA, Orange Ave Wit, Mermaids Red, Blue Bridge Coffee Stout and its winter seasonal Stupid Stout.

“Oregon is obviously an important state for us because of its proximity but mainly because of the amount of beer consumed per capita, and the discriminating beer palate of Oregonians,” said Brooks. “We are honored to be a part of Oregon’s craft beer community.”

The beer will be distributed through General Distributors in Oregon City. “The partnership with Coronado brings an interesting new choice to Oregon craft beer drinkers that was only till now available when they traveled south,” said company Vice President Jim Fick. “You can taste the experience that went into each batch. The huge hoppy ales and balanced ABVs make it fun to drink and the tropical notes mix well with piney notes to bring a burst of sunshine this winter.”

Coronado is sold in 13 other states: California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, New York and Connecticut. The brewery plans to host several launch events to support the new distribution.
