Don’t have a can seam detector? Find one at #CBC2017 (here are two)

March 27, 2017Chris Crowell

The Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America is the No. 1 event of the craft beer year (April 10-13), and we want you to be ready to see all of the cool new stuff on the trade show floor. We asked exhibitors to tell us what they will be showing off, and we turned those submissions into these handy CBC previews. See you in D.C.

If you are canning your beer, which many of you are now, a can seaming detection system is a must-have tool. If you are in the market for one, or need an upgrade, the CBC is the perfect spot to see the available solutions and even bring your own can along for a live demo. We’d recommend visiting the booths below.

Quality By Vision’s SEAM Doctor

Booth 4142

quality by vision can seam detection

No more having to rely on troubleshooting guides and guesswork to detect seaming issues and figuring out how to fix them with Quality By Vision’s SEAM doctor system, which not only detects problem seams, but also suggests solutions.

Highlights include:

  • Monitors and detect seaming issues using a Win10 tablet or laptop.
  • Provides a clear “diagnosis” and solutions to problems.
  • SeamSchool.com: is free for all to learn and understand the seaming process. Now integrated into SEAMetal 6!

The process starts by using the patented Seamer Setup Camera in the seamer. Using live video, operators can now adjust the seamer in real time without any guess work. They can find defects in tooling, bearings and seamer setup as well as improve performance and quality.

Next, SEAMetal, the seam inspection system, not only measures the seam accurately, but diagnoses and recommends changes to the seamer setup based on the seam image and the measurements (patent pending) — going beyond numbers and charts.

Quality By Vision will be unveiling and demonstrating these systems at booth 4142. Brewers are invited to bring their cans for a free evaluation and report.
