Pedernales inks deal with Andrews to distribute in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Andrews Distributing Co. announced a partnership with Pedernales Brewing Co. Andrews said it is thrilled to expand this Texas brewery to the Dallas-Fort Worth  market and is confident it will achieve success in those local accounts. Beers to watch out for are the Lobo Negro and Texas Lager, as well as the Classic Hefe-weizen and IPA in early March.

Andrews Distributing Co. is the nation’s eighth largest beer distributorship by volume and the sixth by revenue. Andrews Distributing Companies home office is located in Dallas, with operations through North and South Texas. Andrews Distributing Co. represents 31 brewing partners with 1,100 team members.

Pedernales Brewing Co. produces 400 barrels (bbls) a day, about 20,000 cases a month, in its 8,500-sq-ft Fredericksburg, Texas, plant, where President and CEO Lee Hereford employs about 10 full-time workers. The brand has more than 100 customers, ranging from big grocers to small restaurants between the Austin and San Antonio areas.

Hereford founded Pedernales Brewing Co. in July 2009 and began distribution in April of 2012. Located in Fredericksburg, Texas, the microbrewery features classic and German lagers and ales. For years Hereford had the desire to start a craft brewery in the Texas Hill Country, but lacked the funds to do so. After two years, he raised the capital to make his dream come true and he launched Pedernales Brewing Co. The company is named after the river that is south of the brewery.

Head Brewmaster Peter McFarlane was a graduate of the Siebel Institute with a master’s degree in fermentation science, and has worked at major breweries along with operating his own micro brewery.
