Stone Brewing rolls craft beer into Kansas for the first time

June 27, 2013Keith Gribbins

Stone Week Kansas
Stone Brewing beer will reach Kansas for the very first time starting July 22. The day after, Stone Week Kansas will start, celebrating Stone craft beer statewide.

Starting in July, Kansans can stop raising corn and start raising a frosty pint of Stone Brewing Co. craft beer. This week the San Diego brewing company announced its beers will be available in bars, restaurants and retailers in Kansas for the very first time starting July 22. Known for its bold, flavorful and hop-centric ales, Stone will distribute its beers throughout The Sunflower State via three area distributors: Central States Beverage Co.; Crown Distributors LLC; and LDF Sales and Distributing Inc.

Stone Co-founder and CEO Greg Koch is a sucker for grandiose entrances, and Stone’s lineup of Kansas events will provide opportunities for many of those. July 22 through 25 will be filled with special release beers, beer school, meet and greets and a beer dinner with Koch and Stone sales representatives. To view all those awesome events, just jump right here.

“Kansas has long been a state that has expressed interest in having our beers available in their local watering holes,” Stone Director of National Sales Jason Armstrong said. “We distribute to two neighboring states, Colorado and Missouri, and have seen plenty of Kansans crossing the border to attend events and buy our beer. It’s an accomplishment to add Kansas to our Stone family and contribute to the growing craft beer scene there.”

Kansas City, Mo.-based Central States Beverage Co. will distribute to cities in the Kansas counties of Leavenworth, Johnson and Miami. Salina, Kan.-based Crown Distributors LLC will distribute to the cities of Lawrence, Manhattan, Salina and Topeka. LDF Sales and Distributing Inc., based in Wichita, Kan., will distribute to bars, retailers and restaurants in that city.

Kansas joins 37 states, Washington, D.C., five countries and one territory where Stone beers are distributed. All nine year-round Stone beers, as well as some special releases, will be distributed in Kansas, including: Stone Pale Ale; Stone Smoked Porter; Stone IPA; Stone Levitation Ale; Stone Ruination IPA; Arrogant Bastard Ale; OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale; Stone Cali-Belgique IPA; and Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale.
