The judging panel (which included CBB) has determined the five finalists for the Colored by INX Can Design Contest. Now, everyone has their chance to select the outright winner of the sixth annual event. The can designs from brand owners, design agencies, and metal decorators can be viewed online here and voting will be conducted this week from May 21-23. Selections made by the public through INX’s Facebook page and LinkedIn pages will count as one vote.
Meet the INX Can Design Contestants
There will be a new champion this year with last year’s winner, Jackie O’s Brewery,
not in contention. A former two-time champion – Great Lakes Brewing – has made it to the final
round. The finalists include:
- Boulevard Brewing Company, Quirk Blueberry Slam
- Great Lakes Brewing Company, Spacewalker Hazy Double IPA
- Karbach Brewing Company, Dunkels & Dragons
- Left Hand Brewing Company, Meyer Lemon Drop Shandy
- Olberding Brands & Family/New Belgium Brewing, Voodoo Ranger Tropic Force Tropical IPA
The contest finalists represent INX customers who produced a commercial can design before January 1, 2025. Contest rules required using at least one color from the INX Color Catalog. The metal decoration’s premier true color standard contains over 650 removable color metal swatches. As a key part of the INX Color Perfection program, it improves the dialogue between the designer, brand owner, and metal decorator and helps products reach the market quicker.
INX judges
The independent panel of five judges from the beer trade, brand design, color, and printing communities determined the five can finalists after taking several things into consideration. They reviewed each entry for design originality, overall design aesthetics, best use of the color palette, and the project statement describing how the INX Color Catalog was involved in the design.
After voting concludes this Friday, the winner will be announced on May 28 via the INX website and social media pages. In addition to bragging rights, the contest champion will receive industry recognition with an engraved trophy and a feature article in INX’s Color Perfection Magazine.
