Young’s Market Co. builds out beer distribution in California, looking for a few good brewers

October 8, 2013Chris Crowell

California Youngs Market
Young’s Market Co. is seeking better and more effective ways to service its existing retail partners and is looking to expand its current beer portfolio with additional high-quality craft and draft beers.

At the start of 2013, Young’s Market Co. in California made the decision to expand its already extensive portfolio of spirits and wine to beer, with a focus on craft beer. In August of this year, Young’s Market launched its California draft beer initiative,  starting in San Diego and featured Boulevard Tank 7 Farmhouse Saison. The program expanded to Orange County on Sept. 16 with a goal of having statewide draft coverage within the next 18 to 24 months.

The latest addition to the growing Golden State distributor’s portfolio is Iron Fist Brewing Co. Young’s Market will be the brewery’s exclusive California wholesaler.

Established in 2010, Iron Fist Brewing Co. is located in Vista, Calif., in the heart of San Diego’s Hwy 78 brewery corridor. Working with Iron Fist, Young’s Market will see that fan favorites such as The Gauntlet IPA, Hired Hand Saison, Renegade Blonde and Dubbel Fisted are made available at better beer retailers throughout California. Iron Fist is also available in Arizona with Young’s Market Co.
