Having to exit a market is never fun, but it makes re-entering a market extra triumphant. The state of Michigan can say hello once again to Heavy Seas Beer via Imperial Beverage and Blue Note Beverage starting this month. Heavy Seas expanded capacity in 2014 with the addition of a new brewhouse to a possible 175,000 bbls per year, making a return like this possible. The brewery will be kicking off its re-entry at Imperial Beverage’s trade show on Sept. 26, followed by a series of on-premise events throughout the state.
“We are happy to be returning to Michigan, which is a truly great beer state,” said Heavy Seas Founder, Hugh Sisson. “Now that we have a partnership with Blue Note Beverage to help represent the brand, I am excited to add our products to the great beer lineup available to Michigan consumers. I’m also looking forward to working with Imperial Beverage. They’ve got a great line up of beers, and we are fortunate to be in their house. Should be fun.”

“A pioneer in American craft, particularly with the concept of real ale, Heavy Seas had resonated with Michigan consumers for years. Now, after a brief hiatus, several well-known favorites and nautically-themed new releases will begin making their way back to store shelves around the state.
“We are also particularly excited to make Heavy Seas’ cask-conditioned ale program available to our on-premise customers as a way to truly differentiate themselves,” said Imperial Beverage Brand Manager Brice Dowling.
