Short’s Brewing releases excellent new podcast series (take a listen)

January 24, 2014Keith Gribbins

Shorts TV Logo with apostropheThe nimble-witted beer connoisseurs at Short’s Brewing Co. have created a cool new podcast to teach us about brewing, distribution and (yes) mullets. “This is our opportunity to put the voices with the people of Short’s, into your ear balls” stated Joe Short, CEO of Shorts Brewing.

Quarter After Productions announced the release of the new podcast production called “Short’s Cast.” Short’s Brewing is located in Bellaire and Elk Rapids, Mich., and the company plans on releasing an audio news magazine weekly that gives their fans, customers and the loyal microbrew community the option of getting their Short’s news audibly via Itunes, Stitcher Radio and the Short’s Brewing website.

The first episode of Short’s Cast was released on January 7th (it’s also below). The show will include a cast of characters from Short’s. Short will be the main host along with Public Relations Manager Matt Gacioch, Quality Control Manager Tyler Glaze, Head Brewer Tony Hansen and even Jack Archiabale who first hired Short into the brewing world when he was co-owner of Traverse Brewing Co.

Founder of Quarter After Productions L.L.C. Mike Moran, produces and narrates the show.

“Quarter After Productions is a mobile podcasting service,” Moran explained. “We give Northern Michigan business the opportunity to use podcasting as an audio magazine to connect with fans, customers and loyal followers through Itunes, Stitcher Radio and embeddable players that can be attached to websites and social media posts.”

Moran started the business in 2013 when he co-founded “Drink My Brewcast” with host Robert Miller. Short’s is the fourth podcast produced by Quarter After Productions. Drink My Brewcast, Here:Say Storytelling and The Filling Station Microbrewery collectively published 65 episodes in 2013 on Itunes and is projected to produce over 250 episodes in 2014.

Here:Say Storytelling is just getting started, they currently have 10 episodes available. The Filling Station Podcast has 10 episodes as well. Drink My Brewcast, which started on January 2nd, 2013 has 45 episodes published and available to stream online or by mobile device for free. But Short’s Cast is a game changer for Quarter After Productions due to the number of loyal Short’s Brewing customers.

“People absolutely love their beer, myself included, and they are constantly creating new beers that get people curious and talking,” Moran said. “We want to hear the stories behind those beers, the artwork, the culture that is Short’s. They changed the beer scene in Northern Michigan.”
