Watch: Rogue Ales is getting pro skateboarders to teach sweet tricks at its hometown skatepark

June 16, 2021Keith Gribbins

Rogue Ales and Spirits’ Dreamland American Lager is brewed in partnership with Dreamland Skateparks to benefit community skateparks across this grand land of ours. Proceeds from the beer go directly towards building skateparks in local communities. After almost three years of fundraising and working with the City of Newport, Rogue and Dreamland were able to break ground and complete Rogue’s hometown Newport Skatepark last year (we covered it). Kevin Kowalski, a professional skateboarder from Oregon, helped put a face on the project. Here’s a quote from him last year:

“I couldn’t be happier with the collaboration between Rogue Ales and Dreamland Skateparks,” added Kevin Kowalski, professional skateboarder from Seal Rock, Oregon. “The Newport Skatepark means a lot to me, and it has been a long-time goal of mine to renovate the park. Now with the launching of Dreamland beer, skateparks and communities across the country can benefit from this great partnership.”

Rogue has a brand category called Daze of Summer, which are “light beers for long daze,” according to the website. These beers include the likes of Dreamland American Lager and Newport Daze Haze Pale Ale. To help promote these easy going, warm weather beers and its skateboarding initiatives, Rogue has been releasing as series of YouTube videos with local pros like Kowalski and Cody Lockwood (from Portland) teaching skateboarding tricks at the Newport Skatepark — from crail slides to front blunts. Check it.

After you’ve mastered these, visit Rogue’s YouTube page. Hopefully, more are coming.
