Alter Brewing ups capacity with four new fermenters, 60-bbl brite tank

July 25, 2017Pretty Much a Press Release

Originally opening its doors in December 2015, Alter Brewing Co. is ready to significantly expand its brewing capacity with the installation of four new 40-barrel fermentation vessels and a 60-barrel brite tank. The 160 additional barrels of fermentation space are the equivalent of nearly 40,000 additional pints or 53,000 12-ounce cans.

The brewery says this increase will not only assist in meeting demand for the newly canned flagship beers, Alterior Motive and Center Line, but will also boost the volume and variety of current and future beer styles.

“This is a very exciting milestone for us,” commented James Bigler, Alter’s head of sales. “It’s hard to believe how much we’ve grown over the last year and a half. These tanks will let us really explore our creativity and share more of our liquid art with the world. We can’t wait to see where this road leads.”

The new additions, along with the existing 20-barrel brewhouse (equipped with two 20-barrel fermenters, two 40-barrel fermenters and a 40-barrel brite tank), were manufactured in the United States by W.M. Sprinkman Corporation, headquartered in Waukesha, Wis. Sprinkman has been supplying food and beverage processing equipment since its founding in 1929 and has provided systems for numerous breweries across the country.
