Atwater Brewery ready to debut line of craft spirits

June 18, 2015Chris Crowell

Atwater Brewery LogoCraft alcohol beverages of all kinds are trending across the nation, spurred on by the meteoric rise of the craft beer industry. We mentioned how craft spirits could be the next, next big thing, and Michigan-based Atwater Brewery seems to agree.

According to MLive, Atwater will be debuting its long-awaited expanded craft portfolio this week, which includes whiskey, run, vodka and gin.

“We are very excited to introduce a whiskey as the first in our line of handcrafted spirits,” said Mark Rieth, Atwater Brewery president said in a release. “For us, it has always been about making fantastic, high-quality liquids. This keeps things fresh for us and has everyone excited.”

The spirits join a long list of craft beers produced at Atwater. Atwater was part of the first wave of Detroit breweries.
The brewery saw sales soar the last few years (up 68 percent in 2014) and is getting ready to expand into several new states (bumping to 26 total). Be sure to head to MLive for the full feature.
