We know it’s your favorite post every month — yes, the Beer Institute has its first unofficial estimate of domestic tax paid by beer brewers out for your enjoyment in 2017. The January 2017 estimate is 12,951,000 barrels, an increase of 2.0% versus January 2016 removals of 12,691,000 barrels.

Month 2016 2017 Percent Change Volume Change
January 12,691,000 12,951,000 2.0% 260,00

Please note that the estimates above reflect revised estimates released by the TTB.

And just an FYI, last January’s numbers were a 2.3 percent decrease from the previous year. Just saying.
