We just didn’t feel like talking about taxes last week, even though the Beer Institute published an unofficial estimate of domestic tax paid shipments by beer brewers, which usually gets us as wild as peach orchard boars. The Beer Institute’s April 2017 estimate is 14,134,000 barrels, a decrease of 4.1 percent versus April 2016 removals of 14,744,000 barrels. Please note that the estimates reflect revised estimates released by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).
