Fun fact: Four of the top five brewing companies use the same flooring

What’s something that connects the largest brewers of beer in the United States? No, not free masonry. Guess again. Give up? Flooring! Looks like the more beer a brewery sells, the less likely it is to brew on a coated floor.

Skimming The Brewer’s Association’s 2019 list of the Top 50 Craft Brewing Companies by Sales Volume, three of the top five companies on the list – Boston Beer Co., Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., and New Belgium Brewing Co. – have Argelith fully vitrified tile in their breweries. Four of the top five overall brewing companies – including Big Beer goliaths Anheuser-Busch, MolsonCoors, Constellation, and Heineken USA – are also Argelith customers.

“Brewing is hard on a floor,” Argelith Ceramic Tiles Inc. President Christian Nierenkoether said. “Argelith tile solves common brewery flooring challenges and outlasts other products on the market. It’s great to see how breweries can succeed when their floors are reliable and they can focus on their business.”

Fully vitrified tile is favored by breweries for its durability under the rigors of beer production. Argelith tile is heat, chemical, and slip resistant, with an absorption rate of less than 0.1%. Easy-to-clean Argelith floors resist scratching, cracking, and breaking, even under heavy loads and rolling traffic. Vitrified tile can outlast other floor coverings by decades.
