Gluten Free Expo planned for Salt Lake City, CBB wonders if Jennifer Esposito drinks gluten-free beer

We were sold at Jennifer Esposito, the keynote speaker for the 2013 Gluten Free Expo. We could drink craft beer all day long and admire Esposito’s many acting chops — I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Summer of Sam and episodes of Spin City. But alas, Esposito might have a hard time joining us. Just go to Esposito’s IMDb page (the Wikipedia of film) and view the random trivia at the top: “Diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2008. Allergic to gluten products.” Rats!

But wait! Esposito and her gluten-free friends could have a New Planet Gluten Free Beer with the Craft Brewing Business (CBB) crew, one of the craft beer exhibitors at the Gluten Free Expo, which is planned for Saturday, Oct. 12, in the South Towne Expo Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The expo overall will be an excellent opportunity for craft beer makers who have gluten-free products to showcase their excellent brands. We only see New Planet Beer as a vendor right now, but the show does have a beer garden, which would be a cool way to market to gluten-free customers. If you can’t catch the Gluten Free Expo in Salt Lake City, there’s also another show in Los Angeles on August 31. The expo precedes the L.A. Dodgers game that night, but it won’t have Jennifer Esposito, which might be a deal breaker for CBB. Regardless, make sure you read Jason Morgan’s excellent articles (one and two) on gluten-free products before attending.
