Marketing idea of the week: Lord Hobo’s 6.17K charity run

April 28, 2022Chris Crowell

Lord Hobo 617

Lord Hobo Brewing is expanding its 617 brand in more ways than one. There is the first, traditional way of course, with yet another new variant, the 617 Lager, to diversify the hop-centric portfolio. Then there is the second, even better way: hosting its inaugural 6.17K Charity Run on June 19 to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank.

“In 2020 we were elated to celebrate our 5th anniversary and had a full slate of events scheduled, highlighted by our first-ever road race! Unfortunately, COVID-19 changed our plans. Two years later, we have scheduled the event once again and are thrilled to be able to celebrate this incredible milestone with our loyal fans, employees and the community of Woburn,” states Kate Ballenger, Director of Customer Experience.

They will be donating 50% of the proceeds from the event to the Greater Boston Food Bank, whose mission is to “End Hunger Here.” It is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country.

“We take pride in our Boston roots and are excited to support our local community. Hosting a 6.17k Charity race on 6/17 weekend to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank is everything that this brand stands for,” states Marketing Director Aubree Karls.

Lord Hobo is putting together a week-long list of events that conclude with the Lord Hobo 6.17K Charity Run. Starting and ending from the taproom in Woburn, runners will enjoy a race that culminates with a tailgate experience complete with a concert, beer, live music and much more in our parking lot adjacent to the brewery.

The race will begin at 11 a.m. with the post-race party beginning at 11:30.
