New York’s Other Half Brewing opens a new location

May 16, 2019Chris Crowell

Other Half Brewing

Other Half Brewing Cofounders Sam Richardson, Matt Monahan and Andrew Burman recently announced the opening of the brewery’s newest location — Other Half Roc — located 25 miles outside of Rochester, N.Y., in East Bloomfield, Ontario County.

What’s new? (sour program)

Housed in the former Nedloh Brewing building, the renovated 8,000-sq-ft space sits on eight acres and features Other Half’s taproom and production facility. The taproom offers 20 lines of Other Half beer on draft, as well as limited offerings and collaborations from brewers and vintners from the area, and around the world. In addition, the brewery plans to implement a full sour program to complement its more well-known IPAs.

“We are excited to join the amazing beer scene in western New York and to share our beers directly with the guests who continue to support us,” said Matt Monahan.

The taproom’s interior features a vast A-frame ceiling with large wood beams and industrial finishes. Custom-built communal tables and expansive windows line the building, providing views of the pastoral landscape and spacious outdoor seating. Small snacks are available and guests can expect frequent visits from local food trucks.

Other Half Brewing

Founded in 2014 by Sam Richardson, Matt Monahan and Andrew Burman, Other Half Brewing is rooted in a simple mission: to push the boundaries of beer. Known for its hazy IPAs, pastry stouts and creative sours, Other Half has built a loyal community of fans around its Brooklyn taproom and grown to become one of the most sought after breweries in the country. With locations in East Bloomfield and Brooklyn, N.Y., and partnerships with like-minded breweries around the world, Other Half is constantly moving the beer industry forward.
