This Pale-Ale-Eo Diet video from the American Homebrewers Association is weird as fuck (congrats)

April 10, 2017Keith Gribbins

This video emits dangerously high levels of weirdness, which makes me an instant fan. Hey, if you’re not willing to be a little bold in today’s multimedia circus, then hang up your top hat (you’ll never get above the noise). Take our headline for example. Last week maybe, the American Homebrewers Association dropped us a line, announcing it had released a spoof? video on summer fad diets. This video was so beyond perfectly strange that it rose above all the racket last week was making (for a few minutes at least). From the website:

With beach season right around the corner, it’s time to work on that beer belly! Don’t waste your time on popular fad diets that fail time and time again. The Pale-Ale-Eo Diet is the last diet you will ever need.

Fun, right? Well kinda. For some reason, it reminds me of those fake horror trailers that went between the Grind House movies. Its cheesy low-fi-ness comes off especially creepy. I forgot it was about beer for a sec, and I will never be able to not see that girl sweating like some murder mediation fountain after getting the “meat sweats.” But it makes for clever content. I watched it a few times.
