Saint Arnold Brewing Co. releases patriotic beer supporting military families

May 16, 2014Jason Morgan

Saint Arnold Brewing Operation Homefront IPA-001

Saint Arnold Brewing Co., the oldest craft brewery in Texas, released Homefront IPA to raise funds for Operation Homefront. One hundred percent of the profits from Homefront IPA go to Operation Homefront, an organization that provides emergency financial aid and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. When Saint Arnold last brewed Homefront IPA in 2012, the brewery, along with its supplier and distributor partners, donated over $125,000 to Operation Homefront.

The special single-batch release comes just in time for Memorial Day weekend. Saint Arnold Homefront IPA will be available at stores, restaurants and bars throughout Texas.

“This is a community effort, with volunteers showing up to help zest oranges for the recipe and the entire supply chain enthusiastically stepping forward to donate their products and services,” said Brock Wagner, founder/brewer of Saint Arnold Brewing Co. “With our war efforts no longer in the headlines everyday, people quickly lose focus on the sacrifices made by those who have served our country. We hope Homefront IPA brings back some awareness to these issues in addition to the money we will be donating from sales of this beer.”

Saint Arnold Homefront IPA is a hoppy West Coast IPA. It pours a golden amber with a big white head. It starts with malt and a hint of orange and finishes with a grapefruit bitter from the Chinook and Cascade hops.

In addition to Saint Arnold Brewing Co., the following organizations are participating:
• Action Box – Case box manufacturer
• Brewers Supply Group – Malt supplier
• Hops Direct LLC – Hop supplier
• Inland Label – Label supplier
• Louisville Slugger – Baseball bat manufacturer (six bats are used in the aging of Homefront IPA)
• Mark Trece Inc. – Printing plate supplier for the case boxes
• Primer Grey – Graphic designer
• Rahr Malting Group – Malt supplier
• The Bottle Shop – Bottle supplier

Several distributors have also agreed to donate their profits from the sale of Homefront IPA, including:
• Ben E. Keith Co.
• Capitol Beverage Co.
• Del Papa Distributing
• L&F Distributors
• Mike Hopkins Distributing
• Silver Eagle Distributors

Saint Arnold Homefront IPA is part of the collaborative brewing effort known as Hops for Heroes. Saint Arnold is one of 11 craft breweries across the country participating. Others include 21st Amendment Brewery, Center of the Universe Brewing Co., Cigar City Brewing, Fremont Brewing Co., Left Hand Brewing Co., Maui Brewing Co., Palmetto Brewing Co., Perennial Artisan Ales, Sly Fox Brewing Co. and Stone Brewing Co.
