Sprecher Brewery featured in ‘Discover Wisconsin’ TV show

“Discover Wisconsin” host, Emily Fink, plays the part of a tour guide at Sprecher Brewery.

Sprecher Brewery in Milwaukee is making its acting debut in an upcoming episode of “Discover Wisconsin,” the nation’s longest-running tourism show. The episode, “Premier Wisconsin Tours,” debuts June 15-16 and will reach more than 250,000 viewers across the upper Great Lakes region, including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Northern Illinois and Upper Michigan.

“Wisconsin has a rich brewing history and as the first brewery to open in the state since the end of prohibition, we’re proud to carry on that legacy,” said Jeff Hamilton, president of Sprecher Brewery. “’Discover Wisconsin’ will help us let a large audience know that they can come tour our brewery and sample what we have to offer.”

In the episode, host Emmy Fink goes undercover as a tour guide at Sprecher Brewery. She begins in the brew haus where Sprecher is reviving the Old World brewing traditions that once made Milwaukee famous. Fink’s tour group makes a pit stop at the lager cellar to see the Bavarian murals on display and then heads to the bottling line and warehouse.

Sprecher Brewery features an indoor beer garden with music and samples from 20 beers and 10 sodas on draught. Tours at Sprecher Brewery are $5 for adults 21 and over and $3 for minors. Reserve tastings are also offered.

“Wisconsin has a deep history of top-notch breweries,” said Dan Bertalan, director of production for “Discover Wisconsin.” “Sprecher’s premium goods and colorful backstory put them right at the top.”

Sprecher Brewery was founded in 1985 by Randal Sprecher. While the company produces a full range of micro-brewed craft beers, Sprecher is most known for its premium sodas — particularly its award-winning root beer.
