Stone Brewing/Greg Koch: Why we have chosen not to sell out to Big Beer

March 10, 2016Keith Gribbins

In 1979, there were only 42 brewing entities in the entire United States. “Big Beer is what got us there,” explains Stone Brewing Co. CEO and Co-Founder Greg Koch in the video above. “Big Beer is what got us to almost no choice in this country and being, quite frankly, the laughing stock of the world when it came to beer.” Today, we are global leaders in the beer industry. Today, America has revolutionized the beer world. Today, we have over 4,000 breweries in the United States, and leading that revolution is craft beer. Are we going to let oversized, investor-run corporations ruin that? Koch and Stone brewing aren’t. Just watch Koch’s take above. He’s OK without a yacht and flying coach if it means staying independent. Cheers to Greg Koch. You, sir, are an inspiration.
