Six is a pretty good age. That’s when the Craft Brewing Business editors honed their reading skills and crafted their first stories. Sure, they were probably about a duck and a lost shoe, but that’s when the editorial magic happened. Thinking about it now, this comparison isn’t much better than that six-year-old’s short story because Sun King Brewing Co. has accomplished way more than we did when we were six. Sounds like a good reason to celebrate!
Sun King Brewing Co.‘s sixth anniversary event will feature live music, Indiana’s best food trucks and a great lineup of limited release beers on tap, plus the release of its most anticipated seasonal beer Grapefruit Jungle IPA, a classic American IPA that was devised by head brewer Dave Colt and showcases hops from the Pacific Northwest to create an intense citrus hop flavor explosion that is reminiscent of biting into a fresh grapefruit. For the third year in a row, Grapefruit Jungle will be released in its very own 16-ounce can, as well as on draft throughout central Indiana.
Indy’s own DJ Helicon will be warming up the stage for Beech Grove native Brandon Whyde & The Devil’s Keep, who will be opening for San Diego’s dirty blues duo Little Hurricane. The headliner for the evening’s festivities will be Austin, Texas-based band Jamestown Revival, playing its self described “Indie Rock with a Southern slant.”
