The clever folks at Tröegs Brewing Co. have been hyping an Al Capone’s Vault-style opening at its brewery over the last few weeks on its YouTube channel. March 1 was the big reveal of the legendary Tröegs brothers vault (closed since the brewery opened in 2011). What’s inside? First off, the awesome Tröegs Guardian, and secondly, a cool pick-the-Scratch-beer-you’d-like-us-to-brew contest.
In 2007, Tröegs introduced the Scratch Beer Series, a line of experimental, small-batch beers using non-traditional ingredients and brewing techniques. While some Scratch beers have followed the path to greatness, the vast majority have trailed off into obscurity. That is, until now. Tröegs has picked what it feels are the best Scratch beers it has produced, and it’s letting fans vote for which one it will revisit and brew again as a Scratch beer. Fans can vote online at Tröegs Facebook page or simply vote at one of the designated boxes right at the brewery.
