Ukraine and U.S. craft breweries team on collab beer to support Ukrainians, seeking others to join

March 9, 2022Pretty Much a Press Release

Ukrainian collab beer

42 North Brewing Company in the United States and 2085 Brewery in Ukraine have launched a collaborative beer and are calling on breweries across the globe to brew a beer and donate its proceeds to support the Ukrainian people.

The beer, branded RESOLVE, will donate proceeds to the Global Empowerment Mission which is providing aid to both the fighters and families that remain in Ukraine, as well as the refugees that have fled to neighboring Poland.

The collaborative effort will provide participating breweries with a recipe, templated can artwork, and information on how to donate the beer’s proceeds. To date, six breweries have signed on for the effort, including two in Europe. The participating breweries include 42 North (East Aurora, NY), Keel Farms (Plant City, FL), Platform Brewing Company (Cleveland, OH), Kings County Brewers Collective (Brooklyn, NY), Reketye Brewing (Budapest, Hungary), and Vetra Beer (Milan, Italy).

For 42 North Brewing, the invasion of Ukraine has hit even closer to home as a member of its brewing family, Ukrainian-born Naz Drebot, was the inspiration for this campaign. Naz helped launch 42 North in 2015 and has since worked alongside and collaborated with breweries across the globe. Currently, Naz is the head brewer and Co-Founder of 2085 Brewing in Kyiv and remains in his home country of Ukraine supporting the resistance.

“Everyone is looking for ways to help. We could not just stand by and watch the horrific events in Ukraine without doing something,” stated 42 North Brewing Founder, John Cimperman. “The resolve of the Ukrainian people is an inspiration to all. We hope, in some small way, the brewing community can come together to help the great people of Ukraine,” he added.

42 North and 2085 Brewery have provided a few recipe options for Resolve. Participating breweries are not mandated to use these specific recipes, but can use them as a guide for their Resolve beer, taking into consideration available ingredients and regional influences.

The designated charity for this collaborative effort is the Global Empowerment Mission (GEM). GEM is providing emergency aid to the fighters and families in Ukraine, as well as humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian families that have fled to neighboring Poland.
