Watch Stone Brewing’s Greg Koch kick back beers with Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, discussing Enter Night Pilsner

January 17, 2019Keith Gribbins

Two iconoclasts of entertainment drink and discuss beer in the nearly 10-minute video above. It’s definitely worth a watch. Stone Brewing Co. Cofounder Greg Koch met with Metallica’s Lars Ulrich in Copenhagen, at Stone’s Escondido’s facilities and even at Ulrich’s home to help conceive Enter Night — a custom-brewed, hop-forward pilsner brand for the kings of thrash metal — being sold at concerts and beyond. Arrogant Consortia, the wholly owned imprint of Stone Brewing and home to Stone’s Arrogant Bastard Ale and other edgy brews, will be producing Enter Night Pilsner. From the press release:

“The amount of ideals and outlooks that Metallica and Stone Brewing share are endless,” says Lars. “I’m always blown away about how similar our paths forward have been. Our view of the worlds that we each inhabit, of creativity and process, and sense of place in relation to our peers and ‘The Man’ are almost identical. This collaboration is beyond effortless and pure, and we can’t wait to share this incredible beverage with everyone out there.”

Enter Night. Goddamn.
