Ardagh Group introduces 750-ml Belgian beer bottle #CBC2015

April 15, 2015Jason Morgan

Ardagh Group, leading producer of glass containers for the food and beverage industries in the United States, announced the debut of its 750-ml Belgian-style glass beer bottle. Providing a more authentic touch for Belgian-style ales, Ardagh Group’s new 750-ml is now available on the group’s BuyOurBottles.com website.

“The BOB platform is specifically designed for craft brewers interested in purchasing glass beer bottles by the pallet or truckload directly from us, the manufacturer,” said Robert Shanteau, vice president of Beer Sales for Ardagh Group’s North American Glass division. “The addition of the 750-ml Belgian provides increased flexibility for craft brewers, and the BOB site is the perfect platform with its convenient online ordering.”

With the addition of the 750-ml Belgian, the BOB site now offers five different amber bottles, including two variations of the 12-ounce bottle, a 22-ounce bottle and two variations of the 750-ml bottle. Craft brewers can buy direct on the BOB site with a major credit card or through a PayPal account and will receive shipment within a few days from one of four warehouse sites strategically located in New York, Georgia, Missouri and California.

The craft beer market is increasing at a phenomenal rate, as evidenced by the rising production and sales of the segment. In 2014, the craft brewers’ volume share of the U.S. beer market reached double digits, at 11 percent. Last year, craft brewers produced 22.2 million barrels, which resulted in an 18 percent rise in volume and a 22 percent increase in retail dollar value estimated at $19.6 billion.

Ardagh Group has a long history serving the beer market.

“Ardagh Group pioneered the Narrow Neck Press & Blow [NNPB] lightweight glass making process in the early 1990s and has been supplying environmentally friendly, lightweight bottles to craft brewers in growing quantities since that point in time,” Shanteau said.

Ardagh Group is showcasing its 750-ml Belgian bottles at the Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America. Visit Ardagh Group during the event in booth #1135, or in the Hospitality Suite in Rooms B117-B119 (Level 1), today, Wednesday, April 15 from 3:30 to 6 pm.
