Green Goblin English Cider gets cool new bottle

We mentioned Thatchers was entering the U.S. craft market a week or so ago. Now, the famed English cider maker is re-launching its Green Goblin Cider to the U.S. market in a sweet, new 330-ml bottle, in partnership with Innis & Gunn USA Inc. (IGUSA) seven months after entrusting the craft brewer’s U.S. business with its flagship brand. Green Goblin Cider at 5 percent ABV, is a quirky, distinctive hard cider that is crafted at Thatchers farm in England. Available to both the on and off premise in bottle, it is also available on draft.

A full flavored, bittersweet blend of apples, Thatchers’ cidermakers have used their expertise gained over four generations of cidermaking to craft a beautifully balanced, gluten-free hard cider with a fresh character and medium dry finish. Somerset Redstreak and Dabinett are among the bittersweet apple varieties that Thatchers cider makers have chosen for Green Goblin, helping create its explosion of flavors.

“Green Goblin is a quirky brand with mischievous appeal,” says Martin Thatcher, fourth generation cidermaker. “Since Thatchers Gold was introduced into the USA at the beginning of the year we’ve been overwhelmed by the response we’ve received and the great comments from people who have had their first taste of authentic English cider. Working with our friends at Innis & Gunn, masters at crafting authentic beers much in demand in the U.S., we’re now looking forward to introducing our second cider, Green Goblin.”

IGUSA managing director, Dan Deluca, points out: “From a standing start we have made a significant impact in retail for Thatchers Gold and are delighted that they have chosen to partner with us again on Green Goblin.”

Thatchers Green Goblin is available in single 500-ml bottles at $3.99 and $8.99 for a four-pack 330-ml bottles.
