Loading bottles by hand? Meet the Manual Bulk Depalletizer from GR-X

January 20, 2016CBB Editorial Staff

Ramping up production to accommodate a rapidly growing business seems to be on the minds of many craft brewers.  To achieve the desired growth in production output, you need to take a close look at your bottling line.  As craft brewers spend countless hours hand loading their empty glass bottles onto the production line, many have approached GR-X seeking a faster, safer and more consistent process. Efficiency improvements not only speed up production, but can also reduce the likelihood of a back or muscular injury to the employees.

The speed of a craft brewery’s bottling line is often limited by its ability to keep the filler operating at peak capacity throughout the day. GR-X Manufacturing offers a manual bulk bottle depalletizer with mass accumulation table that is capable of feeding a line with over 250 bottles per minute – all with just a single operator.

“Keeping the depalletizer easy to use was key to GR-X,” said owner Jerry Pollard. “You simply load the half pallets of bottles into the depalletizer using a pallet stacker. An operator will actuate the lift, raising the stack to the proper elevation, and manually sweep the bottles onto the conveyor using a push paddle.”

Providing a steady stream of empty bottles prevents unnecessary filler down-time and helps maximize output.

GR-X offers a solution to breweries that are not ready for a fully automated unit but would still benefit from a more efficient, cost effective and safe way to increase production. GR-X set out to manufacture a depalletizer that would bring the things brewers care about to the forefront. Since tours are popular for breweries, GR-X offers brewers the option to pick their own powder coated frame color and add their own logo so their equipment matches their brand and unique style.

Since quality craftsmanship is important for brewers, GR-X only uses high quality parts and components on its depalletizer. In doing so, the GR-X Manual Bulk Depalletizer takes the mundane task of loading bottles onto the line and transforms it into a show stopping piece that breweries can use to ramp up production, grow their business, and improve process safety.
