Homebrew supplier fires back at Bud’s anti-craft commercial

February 5, 2015Jason Morgan

Was it just me or were all the commercials during the Super Bowl super depressing this year? Sure, we get it: Drugs are bad and … well, our jaws dropped at the end of this one. But nothing lit the fires of craft brewers’ kettles quiet like the Budweiser Super Bowl ad that basically gave the finger to craft beer and its customers (while also, you know, ignoring its parent company’s own recent acquisitions).

But we’re not here to fan the flames in the comments section below (seriously though, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the ad – so sound off!). We’re here to tell you how Northern Brewer Homebrew Supply shot back. The craft supplier is offering a Peach of Resistance Pumpkin Peach Ale Kit that is designed with faint pumpkin spice and malty undertones that complement a bright peach nose. This five-gallon kit will be ready to drink in just six weeks.

Check out how Northern Brewer describes this newly crafted beer’s personality:

  • Stands for innovation and experimentation and the ingenuity of the craft brewer.
  • An unlikely combination of flavors that works together because it’s brewed the right way.
  • Opposes sameness and conformity in brewing.
  • Proudly an ale, rather than mere “golden suds”.
