KegWorks expands online availability of homebrew equipment

March 4, 2015Chris Crowell

With an estimated 1.2 million homebrewers in the United States, moving into the homebrew market seemed like a no-brainer for the team at KegWorks. The Buffalo-based company was founded in 1998 selling draft beer equipment to consumers online.

Wonder what craft brewers are buying these days? Check out these brewing equipment purchasing trends

Since that time, the company has expanded its product selection to include “everything you’d find in a bar, except for the booze.” That’s how David Rivers, KegWorks President and Founder describes his company’s offering. “Tools for Drinking is the phrase we use to describe our products,” Rivers said.

With regards to homebrew, KegWorks has dabbled in the market for nearly a decade, carrying some of the most basic, often-sought tools. But they didn’t go after it fully until March 2014, when the company added over 200 products to its online shop.

Cut to right now, with KegWorks recently adding 70 new products to its online offerings.

“We want to create a one-stop shop for homebrewers across the country online, and a one-of-a-kind retail experience for local customers,” says Justin Frost, KegWorks Head Brewer and Home Brewing Category Manager. And that’s what this latest addition is all about — servicing every level of brewer, from first-timers to veterans.

The new products include 23 dry yeast strains, 30 specialty malts, as well as a variety of world-renowned Blichmann Engineering Equipment. Visit KegWorks to browse through everything.
