Beer30 keeps refining its cost analysis features for craft breweries

October 21, 2019Chris Crowell

One problem craft breweries had before these boom years was not having enough software solutions scaled to meet their specific needs. That has since changed, with a ton of solutions large and small out there to make life a bit easier. The 5th Ingredient developed one of our favorites in Beer30, a cloud-based, B2B software that empowers breweries to track and analyze over 300 data points from grain-to-glass.

Beer30 covers the entire supply chain process: from tracing the origins of raw ingredients, to visualizing brew and fermentation metrics, to evaluating the trends behind how beer ultimately ends up at accounts, distributors, and tasting rooms. With Beer30’s intuitive user interface that is built with the brewer in mind, users can get anywhere in the system within 3-clicks.

CEO Pulkit Agrawal and team are constantly tweaking and updating things too. Agrawal was Process Engineer at Ballast Point in San Diego and was focused on packaging equipment (kegging and bottling) in California and Virginia. He led the efforts to scale nitrogen bottling and kegging in bulk production.  As an engineer, he has seen first hand the critical points along the brewing process that can be enhanced through a brewery data management software. Ryan Allis, Co-Founder & COO, has numerous years under his belt on the sales and distribution side of the beer industry, working for Fat Cat Distribution and now, co-Founder of Protector Brewery. Chris Dawson, Business Development Manager, has a robust background in helping out industries streamline their data process and enhance their operations through business process/management tools in order to save them time and money.

“We started 2019 off with four breweries, and today, we have 42 active breweries,” Agrawal says. “Customers span across 16 US States, Dominican Republic, and Australia. We’re up to Beer30 v6.1 of the software, and have amazing updates in store for more accounting and sales reports, cost analysis, Xero Integration, and Quickbooks Integration. We are eliminating the tedious redundancies of paper logs, whiteboards, and spreadsheets, for an all-in-one system. We offer unlimited users, are entirely mobile and laptop friendly, and can have you started within 10 minutes and trained within 90 minutes.”

This next phase of product development is focused on helping breweries with sales and distributions, lot traceability, planning and scheduling out tanks and equipment more effectively, and putting together all the costs necessary to answer the question “How much did it cost to make this one pint of beer?”

What customers like

“Beer30 provides the type of integrated brewery management platform that has helped streamline every aspect of my operations,” says Sean Slape, founder of Crisis Brewing in Fayetteville, Ark. “The interface is well constructed and intuitive to use. The snapshots of batch progress provide immediate information at my fingertips. The version tracking of recipes, the inventory management, yeast generation tracking, the automated generation of the BRO and sensory evaluation have simplified and elevated the quality of my operation.”

“Key to us was inventory tracking and charts comparing batches, sensory recording, barrel aging inventory, distribution logs with maps, and more,” says Erin Bullard, founder, OMCO Fermentations. “The ease of use and hands on guidance, training, continuous updates based on client feedback, and support by this company has blown us away.”

“Originally just used as a Brewing log, we now use it in every aspect of our business, from taproom to distribution, to brewing and production. Additionally, as we encounter new needs for the app, the team is quick to respond and release new features to support our needs,” notes Matt West, co-founder of Latchkey Brewing.
