If you’re going to own your kegs, maybe get some with style like these Schaefer Containers

July 23, 2019Chris Crowell

The ECO KEG. Available sizes in stock: 1/2 bbl, 50L and 1/6 bbl.

The cost of owning your own kegs is the lowest long-term answer to the challenge of getting fresh beers to market. But kegs cost money and if a brewery invests in a fleet, they want to see them come back reliably. For those of you who aren’t into renting or using Microstar and prefer keg ownership, how can you ensure your kegs come back?

Schaefer Container believes the answer is differentiation, which is one reason it supplies a wide variety of keg options for breweries to choose from. This way, your kegs will stand out from the pack. Here are some details on its product lines.

ECO KEG

Top of the list is the Schaefer ECO KEG [pictured above]. This option is visibly different from the inception of design right up through nearly infinite options for customization. It consists of a top quality stainless steel body with top and bottom chimes made of polypropylene (PP). These rings are connected to the keg using a snap-on technique and are easily replaceable. The PP chimes are lightweight, durable and shock-absorbing, making the ECO KEG the ideal container for beer, wine and soft drinks.

The ECO KEG is stackable and fully customizable. They may be chemically etched or silk-screened to promote your brand. The polypropylene chimes can even be changed to a custom color to create your own unique look and make your Schaefer kegs stand out from the crowd. Damage resistant top and bottom polypropylene chimes are visibly different from 99 percent of all other beer kegs, regardless of the color of the chimes (which are available in a wide range of colors).

PLUS KEG

Available sizes in stock: 50 L and 1/6 bbl.

Schaefer’s top shelf Plus KEGs are encased in a high-quality polyurethane (PU) coating that offers a striking and distinctive look and makes the KEG extremely robust. The covering also provides an insulating quality that protects contents from unwanted temperature fluctuations.

SUDEX

Even Schaefer’s traditional all-stainless kegs, the SUDEX line, can be embossed with the name of your brewery on the body of the keg (versus on the top chime). SUDEX Kegs consist of a strong keg body with a durable top and bottom chime to withstand the daily drops and bumps that a KEG must handle. The SUDEX KEG is plasma-jet welded, yielding the highest possible aseptic qualities and is designed with a comfort grip handle.
