Pass or fail? B.O.B. the bottle opening cutting board

March 3, 2014Keith Gribbins

First off: Don’t get B.o.B confused with B.O.B. One is Georgian hip-hip producer Bobby Ray Simmons Jr. The other is the “Bottle Opener Board,” the first ever cutting board with a built-in bottle opener (an idea on Kickstarter right now).

We could argue the merits of each BOB — B.o.B’s Strange Clouds album is one of the best of 2012 (full of grand lyrics, great pathos and an audacious rap/pop mix), while B.O.B. is a unique approach to opening your craft beer AND cutting perfect garnishes with just one tool. Granted, B.o.B automatically gets a pass, but B.O.B, let’s look at the facts first.

B.O.B Features and Benefits:

  • Bottle opener and cutting board in one
  • Travel size: great for people on the go
  • Standard size: perfect for your home or patio
  • Made of sustainable bamboo
  • Bamboo is stronger than most hardwoods
  • Naturally Antimicrobial helps prevent food contamination
  • Works excellently as a serving platter
  • The ultimate conversation starter
  • A unique party favor or gift idea (Father’s Day, anyone?)
  • A complement for any outdoor activity
  • A must have for grilling, campers and lounging

We say, pass!

Learn more about B.O.B. in the video above. Note from the press release: “The first production run of B.O.B will come with a Kickstarter green bottle opener ring. In the future B.O.B will be available in an assortment of colors, as for now we cannot make B.O.B a reality without Kickstarter’s support, just our way of saying thanks.”

#superfail A cutting board is too large and unwieldly. Also it will have food particles and juices on it. But who knows… I thought the tablet would never take off so.

@CraftBrewingBiz no worse than @ReefTeam flip flop bottle opener, which is surprisingly useful. #watchfordogshit
