A quick tour of the future Richmond Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens

June 1, 2017Keith Gribbins

Stone Brewing Co. opened up a good portion of its East Coast operation in Richmond, Va., last year, and that included a new brewhouse, retail store, tasting room and its East Coast distribution center — 220,000 square feet in Fulton — east of downtown Richmond. Brewing began in late spring of last year. Yet, the entire Richmond Stone experience will not be complete until at least the second half of 2018, when Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens is slated to open. The restaurant and beer destination will be located along the James River in a revamped version of the Terminal Warehouse building, which is built along the riverfront near what’s called the Intermediate Terminal Dock (developed in the 1930s when Richmond aimed to become a port city).

Since craft fans have been asking about the upcoming restaurant and the complete East Coast Stone experience, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder Greg Koch recently filmed a video tour at the current site, which looks enormous and has a beautiful view of the James River. According to Koch, the whole area is being renovated. We dig the idea of keeping the Terminal Warehouse’s facade gritty and industrial and the sweet rooftop patio. Watch the video above for more info. Tired of typing now.
