San Diego Brewers Guild launches the Official App for SD BEER, promoting indie brewhouses

May 24, 2018Pretty Much a Press Release

Find me beer. Indie beer!

Wish there was an easy-to-use pocket guide for navigating through the Capital of Craft? Good news: Now, there’s an app for that! Available to imbibers everywhere thanks to the San Diego Brewers Guild (SDBG) and developed by craft beer-centric marketing agency Paradeigm, the SD BEER App is specifically designed to promote San Diego’s independent brewing community. This digital year-round tool is available for download on iOS and Android devices. Beginning this summer, SDBG will also begin offering its brewery members a mobile platform for connecting with other members and easily generating public-facing content.

With more than 130 independent craft breweries, San Diego has garnered an international reputation as the Capital of Craft. Keeping this in mind, the SD BEER App was developed to showcase all things that San Diego’s craft breweries, tasting rooms, bars and restaurants have to offer. The mobile application showcases an intuitively built interactive map, where users can find a plethora of nearby breweries and view profiles of all San Diego Brewers Guild brewery and allied retail members at any time.

Cool SD BEER App features

  • Instantly request a Lyft to any SD BEER location and event via the push of a button
  • Learn about “hot news” in SD BEER through timely push notifications
  • View exclusively featured beer lists prior to San Diego Brewers Guild beer festivals
  • Find up-to-date events from more than 130 independent breweries featuring beer releases, trivia, live music and more

“The San Diego Brewers Guild is committed to promoting its brewery members and educating consumers on why supporting independent beer matters,” said SDBG President and Rip Current Brewing cofounder and brewmaster Paul Sangster. “SD BEER App is one of the ways we’re serving all of our members, as it’s the perfect tool for helping locals and tourists alike easily find events, breweries, bars and restaurants serving craft beers!”

Currently using sdbeer.com, SDBG brewery members may login and upload details for the craft beer events taking place around San Diego County. Starting this summer, SDBG members will soon be able to connect with other breweries through the palm of their hands via the SD BEER App “members only” portal. For the phase one launch, brewery members will be able to upload event information, access a discussion forum and view upcoming events for members.

This year-round mobile tool is intended to raise awareness for the San Diego Brewers Guild, its initiatives and events, which further promote one of America’s finest independent beer communities. For instance, San Diego Beer Week is an annual 10-day super celebration happening November 2-11, 2018, and the SD BEER App is ready to showcase this information. Users will be able to easily buy tickets for Guild Fest (going on sale in July) on November 3 as well as find specialty events happening throughout the county.

For those interested in the technology used to develop this mobile application, Paradeigm is one of few businesses adopting an all Javascript framework, utilizing React native to build cross-platform applications and showcase the emergence of small companies that are able to develop wide-scale applications.

“After three months of design and development, we are excited to have completed the first phase of an interactive mobile tool that helps promote amazing independent breweries right here in our backyard,” said Paradeigm CEO and Founder Stephen Brucher. “The team at Paradeigm will be continuously working on new features for SD BEER App, with some unveiled later this year and expected to be beneficial for craft beer fans, the San Diego Brewers Guild and all of its members. Cheers to the Capital of Craft!”

Whether a seasoned local or tourist chasing the sunshine, indie beer fans may download SD BEER App and uncover the flavorful experience provided by America’s Finest City. Available for Android and iOS devices. Learn more and download at sdbeer.com/app. SAVE THE DATE: San Diego Beer Week is set for November 2-11, 2018.
