This is the summer to take those online brewing courses from UC Davis you’ve always meant to take

online learning
Books and computers both have words in them — read ’em at the same time to double your smarts.

In the coming months, UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education is doubling down on its online brewing courses, featuring a variety of online options for home and professional brewers, or anyone interested in taking their craft to the next level.

This might be your chance to take those Professional Brewing Programs you’ve always mean to take but didn’t because you were having too much fun doing stuff all summer. You know, considering all fun is now banned.

Start here: Register for a free online information session on August 11. Program representatives will answer your questions about the various program offerings, benefits, curriculum and more.

Then dive into these

The Brewing Lecture Webinar Series features well-known brewing experts sharing their knowledge on various topics from malt quality to beer law. At just $49 each, these short webinars allow brewers to quickly get familiar with specific brewing issues and participate in live Q&As for further advice and clarification on the topic. All webinars are live and take place on Zoom at 4 p.m. The next webinars in the series include:

  • Content vs Composition of Malt with Glen Fox: Thursday, August 13
  • Introduction to Craft Beer Law with Dan Croxall: Thursday, October 15

If you need a more comprehensive overview to ensure beer quality…

The online Beer Quality Series created by Charlie Bamforth provides brewers with an in-depth look over several weeks at how to ensure quality beer. These entertaining, self-paced courses cover all the key aspects that go into making a great beer in a straightforward and easy-to-understand format. Students who successfully complete these courses can also earn skill-level badges demonstrating their mastery in foam, flavor, freshness, color and clarity, and quality systems. For a limited time, all Beer Quality courses are available at a discounted price of $299 each. The following courses begin October 5.

  • Beer Quality: Flavor
  • Beer Quality: Foam
