Oskar Blues Brewery launches in Delaware

February 18, 2014Jason Morgan

Oskar Blues Brewery will launch in Delaware with Standard Distributing Co., the state’s oldest and largest wholesale beer distributor.

Oskar Blues Brewery plans aggressive 2014 marketing campaignOskar Blues is bringing its award-winning beers on draft and in cans to bars, restaurants and retailers throughout Delaware beginning Feb. 17. Launch events and parties are planned at select retail accounts throughout this week. More events will take place in late spring/early summer to introduce beach lovers to Oskar Blues’ canned craft brews.

“The state of Delaware is a great fit for Oskar Blues’ passion for the outdoors, music, craft beer and our line-up of complex craft beer in a can,” said Chad Melis, Oskar Blues’ director of marketing. “We look forward to having our North Carolina-brewed beers reach into almost all corners of the Eastern seaboard.”

All of Oskar Blues’ beers will be available on draft and in cans. Dale’s Pale Ale, Mama’s Little Yella Pils, and Old Chub are in 12-ounce six and 12 packs and a mixed-pack called CANundrum. The Dale’s and the Mama’s also come in 19.2 single-serve imperial pints —“stovepipe” CANs.

The imperial brews, Deviant Dale’s and G’Knight Imperial Red, are sold in 16-ounce four-packs. Seasonals Ten FIDY (fall/winter) and GUBNA (spring/summer) are available in 12-ounce four-packs.

The Delaware launch follows additional Oskar Blues distribution in Minnesota, Idaho, southern Alabama and central California in the past few months, bringing the number of states that Oskar Blues distributes in to 33. Oskar Blues will add distribution in Kansas, Nevada and Missouri as well in 2014.

The Oskar Blues family of businesses also includes the REEB hand-made bicycle company, Hops and Heifers Farm and three restaurants in Colorado that offer a true farm-to-table experience and a variety of craft beers.
