Video Interview: SweetWater Brewing explains the origins of 420 Fest and some of its newest beers

May 22, 2017Chris Crowell

We went to Sweetwater Brewing 420 Fest as serious beer industry journalists — we swear. This video is the proof. The fact that we filmed it on April 22 and are just now posting it is also proof that we came back a little less serious.

Anyway, we hit up SweetWater’s Green Eggs and Jams event, which is a private party held once a year the Saturday morning of 420 Fest specifically for the brewery’s distributor and retail partners. We wrote about why it was cool in our post-event coverage. While we were there and still fairly coherent, we chatted with Tucker Berta Sarkisian, Talking Head (director of communications) for SweetWater, to learn a little bit more about this entire 420 Fest weekend. It’s one of the all-time great parties, in our humble opinion, but, we asked, what does the brewery get out of it? In addition, we got an in-depth tour through some its new spring/summer brands, which they also used the weekend to debut and promote. Learn about all of them in the video above.
