Brew Hub, MicroStar partner for keg logistics

October 23, 2014Chris Crowell

Brew Hub, a company that provides brewing, packaging, distribution and selling services for craft brewers, has chosen MicroStar Logistics to meet their expanding keg needs. The Brew Hub and MicroStar business models are well-aligned as both companies deliver efficiencies and flexibility that enable growth and reduce carbon footprints for craft brewers.

“Since we first broke ground on our Lakeland, Fla., brewery, we knew we would need a logistics partner we could trust,” says Brew Hub CEO Tim Schoen. “MicroStar has the scale and flexibility to meet our keg demands, and they have a proven track record.”

Brew Hub is a partner brewery led by a team of beer industry executives and craft-brewing experts. Partner brewing is a process that allows craft breweries to brew their beer to exact specifications under the supervision of their own brewmaster, and to package and distribute from Brew Hub. Brew Hub also offers its partners services including sales, marketing, logistics, legal and government affairs. Partner brewing allows craft brewers to expand their distribution without the overhead costs of building a new brewery or the complexity of contract brewing at third-party facilities.

“Brew Hub is an excellent addition to the craft brewer community, and we are excited by the opportunity to leverage our fleet of nearly two million kegs to meet their unique needs,” says MicroStar’s President and CEO Michael Hranicka. “We have enjoyed working with Brew Hub and are impressed with how they do business. We share their commitment to quality, to delivering value, and to minimizing the craft beer industry’s carbon footprint.”

Accurate forecasting is a challenge for any craft brewer, and it becomes more difficult as they work to meet the demands of multiple customers. By choosing MicroStar as the preferred keg solution for their growing list of customers, Brew Hub will have the benefit of receiving the quality kegs they need, when they need them. This partnership also will help Brew Hub consolidate incoming and outgoing kegs from multiple brewer partners, which will improve efficiencies and flexibility.
